President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree declaring three days of the Eid al-Adha celebration – June 6, 7 and 8 – as days off, TDH reports.
The document was signed by the head of state at a government meeting. The decree notes that the decision was made “guided by the noble principles of generosity, good nature and humanism, as well as in accordance with Article 81 of the Labor Code of Turkmenistan.”
Since the third day of the holiday – June 8 – falls on Sunday, the decree prescribes moving the day off to Monday, June 9. Thus, residents of Turkmenistan will receive a four-day uninterrupted weekend.
All institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, are ordered to ensure the implementation of this decree.
