Today, Ashgabat hosts an exhibition of carpets and carpet products, as well as the XXV meeting of the World Association of Turkmen Carpet Connoisseurs, timed to coincide with the Turkmen Carpet Day.
On this occasion, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of these forums.

The Turkmen carpet as a work of ancient art clearly reflects the spiritual values of the nation. Carpet ornaments and patterns, into which a woman put her aspirations, worldview and heartfelt aspirations, give a fundamental idea of the life values of our ancestors.
The placement of carpet ornaments on the symbols of statehood testifies to the loyalty to the precepts of the ancestors. Commitment to the original traditions of the courageous Turkmen people, as well as the careful preservation of its national characteristics, mentality and spiritual values serve as a kind of guarantee of future achievements.
"The country pays special attention to the development of the world-famous art of carpet weaving: opportunities are being created for its popularization and consistent improvement, for the creation of new types of carpets and the careful preservation of their original samples. At the same time, new artistic carpet-making enterprises are opening with all the conditions for fruitful work and comfortable rest for women and girls," the President noted, wishing the participants good health, family well-being, a peaceful and happy life, and great success in the development and popularization of the national art of carpet weaving in the world.
