A delegation of Turkmen parliamentarians, headed by the Chairperson of the Mejlis D. Gulmanova, met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of the People's Republic of China Zhao Leji.
As reported on the website of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the meeting was held in an expanded format.
During the meeting, the importance of mutual support for the initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan and China within the framework of the UN, as well as friendly relations established at the highest level, were emphasized.
In this regard, special attention was paid to the results of bilateral agreements reached in various areas at meetings of the heads of state of the two countries. At the same time, issues of cooperation at the parliamentary level in the "Central Asia - China" format, as well as the future holding of the inter-parliamentary council "Central Asia - China" and the joint forum "Turkmenistan - China: Women and Youth" were considered.
The Chinese side expressed its readiness to further expand cooperation in such areas as science and education, healthcare, and agriculture.
Dunyagozel Gulmanova highly appreciated the inter-parliamentary relations between Turkmenistan and China and noted that the meetings and negotiations held during the visit would contribute to further strengthening of bilateral relations.
She also expressed hope that Zhao Leji would take part in international events marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.
Recall that a delegation of parliamentarians from Turkmenistan is currently visiting China to convey to the international community the peaceful state policy of Turkmenistan, carried out in accordance with the status of permanent neutrality, and to promote the development of inter-parliamentary relations between Turkmenistan and China.
