1. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived on Thursday on a working visit to the Balkan velayat. The head of state got acquainted with the preparations for the UN international conference on landlocked developing countries, scheduled to be held in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone, and also held an extended visiting meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
2. Turkmenistan plans to expand transport links with the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone on the Caspian Sea coast ahead of the summer season. In addition to the current passenger train schedule, additional train services will be organized on the Ashgabat–Turkmenbashy–Ashgabat route. It is also planned to launch regular bus service from Balkanabat International Airport to Turkmenbashy, as well as from Turkmenbashy Railway Station to the resort area of Avaza. In addition, the number of flights from the international airports of Ashgabat, Dashoguz, Mary, Turkmenabad and Kerki to Balkanabat International Airport will be increased.
3. More than 100 high-level delegations will attend the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. The forum is expected to bring together representatives from 32 landlocked developing countries, delegates from 47 small island states, high-level representatives from 49 least developed countries, as well as UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

During an extended visiting government meeting in the Balkan velayat, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave instructions to ensure strict observance of law and order and fire safety rules during the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This instruction was addressed to the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Begench Gundogdyev.
5. Doctors from the regional hospital of Herat (Afghanistan) visited Ashgabat in April on a working visit, during which they held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan. During the talks, the parties paid special attention to issues of bilateral cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry and medical technologies. Afghan doctors discussed the possibility of exporting high-quality and affordable medicines to Afghanistan, produced in Turkmenistan at a joint Turkmen-Indian antibiotics plant.
6. This morning, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in a ceremony to commission a new International Airport near the city of Jebel in the Balkan province. The modern aviation complex is designed to service 100 passengers per hour. The air harbor was built by order of the “Türkmenhowaýollary” Agency by specialists from the private enterprise Gündogdy. The airport is located 20 kilometers northwest of the city of Balkanabat and 4 kilometers from the Mollakara resort.

1. According to the Minister of Urban Development and Environment of Türkiye Murat Kurum, the number of damaged buildings after the recent earthquake in Istanbul has reached 4295 objects. Kurum emphasized that the work to assess the scale of the destruction is continuing in an active mode. 1. The World Flying Disc Federation has included the "Public Association of Flying Disc of Turkmenistan" into the organization as a national member. Flying disc sport was introduced in Turkmenistan in 1997. Since then, the number of adherents of this discipline has been constantly increasing. It is worth noting that Turkmen athletes are already participating in various international tournaments. Membership in the WFDF will provide expanded opportunities for participation in world-class competitions and access to coach training programs. In August 2015, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognized the flying disc as an Olympic sport.
