Turkmenistan has proposed that Kyrgyzstan create mutually acceptable conditions for using the infrastructure of the Turkmenbashy International Sea Port, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said during talks with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
"We see huge potential in the transport and logistics sector of our region. Therefore, we believe it is necessary to use the opportunities of the Central Asia - Middle East transport and transit corridor more effectively. In this context, the Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan route with access to seaports in the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea is a strategically important step. We are ready to create mutually acceptable conditions for using the infrastructure capabilities of the Turkmenbashy International Seaport," said Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The first meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Kyrgyz Commission on Transport, Transit and Logistics will be held on April 28-30 this year in Bishkek.
