The Russian government has expanded the list of agricultural products to include flies, their eggs, larvae and their processed products. This means that farmers producing animal protein from insects will be able to receive government support on an equal basis with other agricultural producers. sfera.fm reports this.

The list of agricultural products approved in Russia includes black soldier fly - adults, larvae, eggs, as well as puree made from insects, fine and coarse flour and other types of processed products.

Fly meal can replace fishmeal in livestock feed. It contains no less protein, and the production of this flour is several times cheaper.

In addition, insect products may become part of the usual diet by 2030. World Economic Forum experts predict that by the end of the decade, 2/3 of all dietary protein will come from insects, including flies, cockroaches and worms.
