Rashid Meredov discussed expanding partnership at meeting with Iranian President

As part of the working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Iran, a meeting was held in Tehran on May 20 between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian. The parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for expanding cooperation in key areas, confirming their readiness to deepen the strategic partnership, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkmen minister conveyed greetings and best wishes to the President of Iran from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. President Pezeshkian, in turn, sent warm greetings to the leadership of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, special attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, transport, energy, investment, cultural and environmental spheres. The President of Iran emphasized that strengthening bilateral relations and implementing joint investment projects meet the interests of the peoples of both countries and contribute to ensuring their well-being and security.

The importance of interaction in the field of transport and transit, as well as cooperation within the framework of international and regional initiatives, was separately noted. In this context, the parties discussed the upcoming international conference in December, initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people.
