Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov took part in the flood protection exercise in the Tona River basin (Tochigi Prefecture), organized by the Secretariat of the Japan Water Forum on May 17.
During the event, representatives of the diplomatic corps familiarized themselves with the work of Japanese emergency services to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters caused by floods, according to the website of the Turkmen diplomatic mission.
The governor of Tochigi Prefecture, the mayor of Utsunomiya City, the vice minister of land, infrastructure, transport and tourism, members of parliament and other high-ranking representatives of the country's relevant ministries and departments took part in the exercises, the source notes.
